  The Ale House

2425 West Alabama, Houston, TX
THIS IS PROBABLY one of the most famous hauntings in Houston. The structure was once a farm house back when the area known as "River Oaks" was in the boonies. Now it's practically in downtown Houston. According to local legend the house was also a brothel, but no evidence can be found to support that theory. The current owners have a pretty good history on the house and land. They have 2 spirits, one male and one female. Activity reported has included moving candles, pinched guests and such. Most of the activity is reported on the second and third floors.

During our investigation of the Ale House we witnessed the shadow of a woman descending the stairs. There was no one on the stairs and no offense to the female members of the group, but none of us are that skinny anyway. Nor were we wearing dresses. Not all of the team witnessed this event. It was witnessed by Pete, Nichole, Katie and Lorraine. The apparition approached Pete and he began to shake. He was able to take of photograph of her as she began to descend the stairs. While sitting at the bar Katie was pinched.

When we first reached the top of the stairs all of us walked through an energy field. That's the only way that I can think of to describe it, as if there was a wall of electricity. Terri's EMF meter spiked (it was the only one that was on) and everybody's hair stood straight up. We did get some EVP from that investigation, but the tape wasn't new so it's not on our site.
