Investigation
WE SPENT THE FIRST HOUR and a half setting up equipment, talking with Tom and Colin, taking background EMF readings, and eating lunch.

We then went back upstairs. I monitored the third floor with the IR thermometer. I tracked several temperature drops of 10 degrees or greater that lasted for a second or two then disappeared. Dean Phillips sat at the bar on the second floor during this time and witnessed the water faucet turn itself on to about half-open. Could be caused by water pressure, but probably not.

Lorraine did a reading on Maggie on the third floor. I monitored EMF and temperature, but did not measure any significant fluctuations in either measurement during the reading. Prior to our departure Pete and I sat at the third floor landing as Pete and Lorraine were seeing an outline believed to be Maggie. Colin took pictures from the second floor. In several flashes from Colin's camera, I saw one orb and several things that I can only describe as blue energy streamers. I also saw several spark-like things and a triple-energy-streamer without the aid of a camera flash. I was not looking in the direction of the flash, and in no way could the flash have such an effect on my vision.

Dean thinks that the reason Maggie doesn't come downstairs is that the Captain is stronger downstairs. The 3rd floor is the ladies' area.

Requiem for a Houston Legend
It is with a sense of sadness that we report that the owner of the Ale House lost the battle with a nearby book retailer. On June 3, 2001, a century-old farm house was torn down to make room for a new book store. Pete Haviland was invited to the seance held at the Ale House prior to its destruction. The purpose was to attempt to "free" Maggie. Whether the attempt was successful or not will remain to be seen. Pete did not witness any paranormal phenomena during the evening. We half-expect to get called to the new book store to figure out why books are flying off the shelves...
